

Overview of Executive Committee and Committee At LargeThe DFW Maharashtra Mandal committee is led by the Mandal President with the help of the rest of the committee. This consists of the Secretary handling the publication of periodicals and newsletters, the Treasurer, handling the Mandal's finances and a lot of help from the Members at large. Additionally, Youth Group Coordinators are occasionally chosen from the community to represent the younger generation members of the Mandal Although the Mandal programs are organized by the committee, their success would not be possible without the continuing help of numerous volunteers who have helped the Mandal selflessly. Elections for the DFW Maharashtra Mandal Committee are held each year before the Ganesh Chaturthi Program with the new committee going into action during the Ganesh Chaturthi Program. You can email to the members of the current Committee at committee(at)dfwmm.org Roles & ResponsibilitiesPositions on the new committee include the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Co-Treasurer, Web Master, and 38 Members-at-large. Note that only 1 person per family can be on the committee during the year and each candidate can only run for 1 specified position. Current members of the new madal year can nominate themselves or other members. The responsibilities of these positions are briefly summarized below: President [1 Position]The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Organization. Subject to the direction and control of the EC and the BOT, he or she shall be in charge of the business of the Organization; he or she shall see that the resolutions and directions of the EC and the BOT are carried into effect except in those instances in which that responsibility is specifically assigned to some other person by the EC or the BOT, and, in general, he or she shall discharge all duties incidental to the office of president and such other duties as may be prescribed by the EC or the BOT from time to time. He or she shall preside at all meetings of the EC, except in those instances in which the authority to execute is expressly delegated to another officer or agent of the Organization. If the Organization shall hold investments in securities with voting rights then he or she may vote all securities which the Organization is entitled to vote except as and to the extent such authority shall be vested in a different officer or agent of the Organization by the EC. Co-Treasurer [1 Position]The Co-Treasurer would have the same role and responsibility as primary Treasurer (except those listed below) and can back-up and represent Treasurer Activities as need be. Co-Treasurer shall not have following responsibilities of the Treasurer unless and until such responsibility is specifically assigned by the President, Treasurer or the majority of the EC; such exception shall require approval of BOT.
